BnC Mix 030: DJ Madd

April 10, 2018Peter Merritt

The latest installment in the BnC Mix Series is brought to us by a producer and DJ that needs little introduction: the one and only DJ Madd. The Hungarian-born badman is as diverse in his productions and selections as he has been in home bases; his catalog has touched on dubstep, dancehall, jungle, footwork, drum and bass, reggae, halftime beats, and most recently, UK funky, all while residing everywhere from Bristol to Tokyo to New York City. Yet, through all those genres, tempos, vibes, and cities, what’s most impressive about Peter Simon, AKA DJ Madd, is his ability to retain a unique, unmistakable sound, no matter the context. Whether it’s a vibey halftime and jungle release on Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge imprint, a dubwise weighty rinser on Brooklyn’s sound-system culture label Dub-Stuy, or even a 130 BPM stomper on Nottingham’s Tumble Audio, you can always spot a DJ Madd tune, and it always gets you moving in the dance. Without further ado, we’re proud to present the most recent installment in the Booms and Claps Mix Series: “BnC Mix 030: DJ MADD”
