Our latest exclusive download comes via BnC favorite Slit Jockey Records in the form of a remix from Seattle badman Tony Goods of Mojo Goro‘s “Dissolved”. Tony Goods has been a staple in the Seattle underground club/bass music scene for years, and his productions have been released on legendary labels such as Top Billin’ and Main Course. His style is futuristic; heavily grime influenced but with a club twist. His DJ sets range from rap to UK grime to trippy club music, always mixed flawlessly. He’s even received DJ support from Mad Decent don Diplo. It’s safe to say that his name belongs in the ring of top contenders in the forward-thinking grime/club music realm.
The remix of “Dissolved” walks the line between grime and 808 bass music perfectly. Starting off with some impressive percussion work and a Kromestar-reminiscent synth lead, the track kicks right into gear, and continues to hold that initial burst of energy throughout the whole track, while retaining an often elusive “psychedelic but not cheesy” vibe that is so rarely attained in bass music. Music like this just simply is not being made in the United States. Big ups to Tony Goods, Mojo Goro, and Slit Jockey for bringing some adult UK vibes to America.
