EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Bricksquash (Cloud-D x Resonant Language)

December 30, 2014Peter Merritt

Colorado has long been one of the most prominent areas in the world for underground bass music (especially of the glitchy variety). Not only does Denver have one of the most crackin’ bass music scenes in the United States, but there was a period when you almost couldn’t go a day without a new Colorado producer popping up with tunes better than anything you’d heard before. As we move into 2015, that scene that was so dominated by Colorado in the 2010-2013 era is much more evenly spread across the country, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t phenomenal Colorado producers still making tunes that draw Vibesquad-style smiles on faces around the world. Two of these producers are none other than Cloud-D and Resonant Language.

Representing the Mile High Sound Movement, both of these young bucks have been on our radar for some time now. Cloud-D has been presenting some of the most truly evil, ghastly sub-30hz bass tones for years now, and Resonant Language consistently puts out some of the more impressively intelligent, glitch-ridden, wonky bass music in the game (see his remix of Minnesota and G Jones‘s “Thunderdome”). These two have recently come together to form their new project Bricksquash, and we couldn’t be more pleased to present their first official release. Stream and download their remix of Young Scooter‘s “New Young Niggas” (ft. Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug) below.
