Despite blasting onto the scene with a huge debut release on Exit Records just last year, Canada’s Groves is already getting consistent DJ support from folks like Alix PerezOm Unit, dBridge, and Fracture. His tunes can be heard doing damage on bass music dance floors all over the world, especially his halfstep weapon “Hennessy Brown” on the recent Astrophonica compilation. Drawing heavy influence from the wobbles of the dubstep and 140 scene with a jungle and drum & bass twist, Groves has developed a unique sound that’s already very recognizable as his own. Even so, he’s just getting started, and we can’t wait to hear what’s coming next from Toronto’s slowfast prodigal son.

In the meantime, he has a huge EP entitled “VOTPW” coming next Friday, March 28th, on the Hong Kong imprint Unchained Recordings. This label has also seen a quick rise to success, with several critically acclaimed releases from artists like SinistarrOAKK, and Subp Yao just over the past year since their inception. We’ll be premiering the dungeon stepper title track from “VOTPW” today, and it’s quite the vibe. Check it out below, and pre-order the release here!
